How often should your nephrologist check the EBV level and when it comes back detected is there a range that makes it more dangerous than another? My son had not had it checked since May of 2024 and I just got tested this week. His results came back yesterday and they are high but I dont know in comparison to what and exactly what this means. I will be calling his nephrologist first thing Monday morning but appreciate all input from anyone here.

This annual ceremony at the St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC is an awesome event. It's a beautiful and touching rememberance service in honor of ALL Organ Donor Heroes (both, deceased and living donors). The church is packed with Donor families, recipients and their loved ones, and many others who are connected to organ donation and transplantation in some way. The ceremony also celebrates recipients. 🙏 I've attended many of these services virtually over the years, it's extremely moving and emotional indeed. I hope to attend in person someday, in honor of the donor hero who made life possible for me. His ❤️ lives inside of me and it is making it possible for me to thrive.

Organ donors 💙 DonateLife 💚 to give the ♻️ Giftoflife ✅️, and make secondchances possible for so many.

#OrganDonation + #Transplantation = #Miracles 💯

#BeADonor to #savelives #livingdonorsrock #shareyourspare

February is American Heart Month, a nationwide observance that spotlights cardiovascular disease and the need for more lifesavers.

Being a lucky, blessed, and grateful heart recipient, I really try to raise awareness about heart health in general. After being diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) in 2008, and after several procedures (including open heart surgeries, thanks to an organ donor, I was blessed with a heart (my Gift of Life) on April 20, 2015.

Heart disease is still the #1 cause of death in the 🇺🇸. So, let's all please get involved and make heart health a priority. Heart disease doesn't discriminate at all. Someone has a heart attack approximately every40 seconds! I survived a massive heart attack 2008.

Throughout the month of February, I will post materials related to heart health, including information about the risk factors etc. Uncontrolled blood pressure is one such risk factor. It is extremely important to monitor regularly and manage our blood presure to avoid strokes and other cardiac events (along with other diseases). Please download the blood pressure log and try to track/monitor. (See link)

Please feel free to comment about your experiences related to heart health.

I had Short Gut Syndrome as a result of gastroschisis and then went into TPN-induced liver failure. I received my transplant over 19 years ago in Omaha, Nebraska, and have been fortunate enough not to have needed another transplant since, and have had very minimal complications.

I live in New York City and make films mostly about chronic illness and disability in an attempt to raise awareness and build community about life after transplant and how to live a full life with long-term illness. So excited to meet everyone here and make some connections! :)
