Today, April 20th, is my 🌟 GIFT OF LIFE DAY 🌟 The 💕 heart 💞 that beats inside of me since 2015, hasn't skipped a beat in 11 years.👍 I try to live each moment in honor of the amazing organ donor hero who saved my life. Much gratitude to the my heart donor's loved ones too. I've been able to accomplish so much over the past 11 years, it's truly been a blessing. Of course, I wouldnt have made it this far without the extreme love, care, and support of my wife, Viji (a true 😇 and absolute Godsend). I'm grateful to my daughters, parents, other loved ones friends for giving me reasons to live. Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes over the years.
As most of you know, it takes way more than a village for a transplant to be successful . I'm immensely grateful to ALL who had a role in keeping me alive, and for making this secondchance possible for me. I have much respect for the medical communities and entire staff at: University of Maryland Medical Center, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Inova, and MedStar Union Memorial Hospital . I've been extremely lucky to have had excellent care providers throughout my #journey (both 🇺🇸 and in 🇮🇳 ) which began with my first heart attack on April 9, 2008.
Along my journey I've befriended many in the community, and I appreciate all of you. We inspire each other to grow and thrive (not just survive). We (recipients) are a symbol of hope to all who are waiting for a life-saving transplant. Waiting is really tough, but never give up . Had I given up while waiting inside the hospital for so many months, I wouldnt be here today writing this post. Sincere prayers for the loved ones of those who weren't lucky enough to receive timely Organ Transplant treatment. 🙏🙏
So, please continue to share your stories to raise awareness , educate, and advocate for Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation (including living donation).
